It's a pretty curious choice considering Google could use YouTube Music or Google Play Music, but went with Spotify instead. Despite the service's large music catalog, the actual user experience has driven many users back to alternatives like Spotify. Thankfully, now it is possible thanks to Google Clock's integration with Spotify. For the music lovers, the new Clock app would continue with music by Spotify even after the alarm is switched off. Spotify users with free accounts can also use the feature in shuffle mode. Last but not least, the layout of the YouTube Music app will be refreshed, as Google plans to reorganize how albums, songs, and playlists are arranged by adding a few more options that allow filtering by alphabetical order and genre. It's now available to devices that are running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above in the 65 markets where Spotify is currently available.

Starting today, Spotify and Google are partnering to help both and free and Premium users on Android™ phones to set their own unique alarms with music from Spotify's 35 million track catalog.

Google is rolling out a new feature to enable users to connect music streaming service Spotify to the Google Clock app and wake up to their favourite playlists and songs.
