Thomas had been lingering on the free agent market with few known suitors since his contract expired with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The All-Star point guard agreed to a one-year deal with the Nuggets, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported early Friday morning. "I think he respected that and admired that, because I wanted him to be the best Isaiah Thomas".

While the Duchess of Sussex went for her go-to as well, sporting a boat neckline on a fitted and flared bespoke black Dior dress. Later, Harry and Meghan, along with Prince William and Duchess Kate of Cambridge, appeared at a reception at the palace.

After opening his National Basketball Association career with the Sacramento Kings in 2011-12 and subsequently playing for the Phoenix Suns, Thomas exploded into stardom with the Boston Celtics. With the Cavaliers struggling, however, they dealt Thomas, Channing Frye and a 2018 first-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Lakers on February 8 for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. The Celtics reached the Eastern Conference Finals that year but a hip injury kept Thomas sidelined as LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cavs advanced to the NBA Finals.

The one-year, minimum deal is a gamble for Thomas, though one he may have been forced to take. It was only two seasons ago when Thomas was a legitimate MVP candidate, averaging a tick under 30 points per game for the top-seeded Celtics in the 2016-17 season. He averaged 15.6 points per game on 38.3 percent shooting from the field and 32.7 percent shooting from 3-point range. But questions remain regarding his long-term health. The deal is for one year and will pay Thomas $2 million. If Thomas can't prove healthy enough to be the whirling offensive force he was in Boston, how many teams would be willing to gamble on him again?
