Jack Wilshere has signed for West Ham United on a three-year contract worth £100,000 a week.

The 26-year-old England player's contract with the Gunners expired at the end of June.

"It feels good, it feels special", he said on West Ham's website.

"My family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone's buzzing".

Hampered by injuries in the past, the England global made 20 league appearances in the 2017-18 season but now starts a fresh chapter of his career.

Anderson was tempted to join West Ham by his fellow South American Manuel Pellegrini, who has wasted no time in building a new and exciting squad at the London Stadium.

Leicester City and West Ham United are continuing to track Lazio defender Jordan Lukaku. "The manager [convinced me],..." Not many clubs could fill it week in, week out, and West Ham do.

"He makes me think of Mbappe because I played him at 17 years of age as he was an exceptional talent".

It was confirmed last month that Wilshere would be leaving Arsenal, having spent his entire career there to date, after discussions with new manager Unai Emery.

In a conversation with the West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini the midfielder now looks set to stay in England by signing a three-year contract worth £100,000 per week.

"Jack is a player with excellent technical ability, combined with great energy and commitment, and has proven his quality both in the Premier League and at worldwide level", he told the club's website.

Wilshere made his senior debut for Arsenal in 2008, going on to make 197 appearances and winning the FA Cup twice - in 2014 and 2015.

West Ham have also initiated contact with Borussia Dortmund over the possible signing of Andriy Yarmolenko and remain in talks with the German club.
