Microsoft Is Teasing A New Surface Announcement For Tomorrow

Microsoft has announced the next addition to its Surface lineup of computers and it's a new tablet aimed at the more budget conscious market that the Surface Pro simply can not hope to serve. The basics: it's a 10-incher with an 1800 x 1200 pixel display, it weighs half a kilo (1.15 lbs), and starts at $400 - unfortunately sans the keyboard, as usual.

Under the hood, the Surface is powered by a 7th-Generation Intel Pentium Gold processor.

The budget Surface device is said to be equipped with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM, and will be available with up to 128GB of internal storage.

Surface Go will run versions of Windows 10 and Office apps. Both will use only connect to the internet over Wi-Fi.

Also, a document posted to Reddit on Sunday (July 8) points to a "New Microsoft Hardware Display and Type Cover set on Friday, 7/13". The Surface Go has a slower Intel Corp. processor, according to Bloomberg. Microsoft is claiming the Surface Go will last up to nine hours on a charge. Still, that's $100 less than the Surface 3 started at, making it the cheapest of Microsoft'sdevices in this lineup yet.

One of the more interesting components of the Surface Go is the low-end Intel processors.

Croatia working extra, says it will have enough for England
In the Croatia match, he came on as a substitution in the 102nd minute and scored a goal for his side during the penalty shootout. This is the first time they have reached the knock-out phase since and Luka Modric reckons their good fortune is long overdue.

In the coming weeks, Surface Go will be available for pre-order in Japan, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and in China with more markets to follow. It's nearly a surprise, as the more advanced Surface Pro doesn't have that yet (but we expect to see a refresh of the Surface Pro later this year). Consumers will receive the device with Windows 10 Home in S mode, while commercial customers will have the option for Windows 10 Pro. Here's everything you need to know. We can't find an apples-to-apples comparison between the Pentium 4415Y and the Atom x7-8700, but Anandtech's Bench has results for the Surface 3 against the original Surface Pro, and the original SP leads by a substantial margin in virtually every test. In the future, SKUs with 256GB SSDs, as well as LTE connectivity will be available, though pricing information is not yet available.

However, users can freely switch to Windows 10's full-version. Throw in a $99 Surface Pen and a $99 Type Cover ($129 for the Signature version) and you're way past the other two.

What are the Surface Go specs?

It'll be notable if the tablet does have a USB-C port, since previous Surface tablets required a proprietary Microsoft adapter for charging and data.

By itself, the new tablet is unlikely to dramatically swing the U.S. K-12 device market for Microsoft, says Ben Davis, a senior analyst at Futuresource. One of the earliest incarnations of the Surface line, the Surface RT, fared poorly.
