George Clooney Injured in Scooter Accident on Sardinia

Hollywood star George Clooney was treated in hospital on Tuesday for minor injuries after a scooter accident in Sardinia, the Italian news agency AGI reported.

Clooney got an MRI to check the extent of his knee injury and his wife, Amal Clooney, rushed to his side.

Clooney was reportedly heading to a film set when his motorbike was hit by a vehicle.

Clooney was traveling on a state road in Costa Corallina, a province of Olbia, when the crash occurred, Italy's TGCOM24 reported.

Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea and is over 500 miles from Clooney's villa in Lake Como.

'The auto driver called the 112, the emergency number of Carabinieri, and they sent the Municipal Police, an ambulance and the Fire Dept.' they added. "George Clooney has already been discharged and he stays well".

Clooney was in Sardinia shooting his Hulu limited series Catch-22.

"Catch-22" is slated to air next year.
