Nevertheless, traditional business models are no longer sustainable and high-quality publications, like ours, are being forced to look for new ways to keep going. Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the United Kingdom -based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told the agency that "Iranian and pro-regime fighters" were killed at the base.

Syrian media reports say that Israeli warplanes attacked the T-4 airport in Homs Province on Sunday evening, firing multiple missiles at the base.

On 9 April, missiles targeted the T4 air base, killing as many as 14 fighters, including seven Iranians.

Israel has carried out several attacks on this specific air base in the past, claiming it was targeting Iranian fighters and weapons. Israel's air force has struck scores of targets it describes as Iranian deployments or arms transfers to Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Damascus, as well as its allies Iran and Russian Federation, said Israel was responsible for an April 9 air strike on the same Homs base, an attack that killed seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) members.

On Saturday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian parliament speaker's special adviser on global affairs, stated that Syrians will not allow the country to "once again fall victim" to Israel.

"The Zionist regime tries to gain dominance over Syria after Daesh, but resistance forces and military advisers from the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue their presence alongside Syria to counter terrorism, " he added.

"The Syrian people will not allow the country to be turned into the hotbed of Zionist terrorists once again", Amir-Abdollahian noted.

The base, where Iranian forces and Lebanese "Hezbollah" fighters are believed to be stationed, was repeatedly targeted in the past few months.

An Israeli-Iranian showdown also flared over Syria in February, when Israel said an armed drone coming from the T4 base penetrated its airspace.

This comes as the Syrian army is advancing in southern Syria in areas close to the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which sparked the ire of Israel.
