For 17 seasons, Tony Parker was a key member of the San Antonio Spurs and, over the course of his career, the French guard amassed four NBA titles, six All-Star appearances, four All-NBA nods and the 2007 NBA Finals MVP.

Parker will assuredly have a bigger role in Charlotte than he would have had in San Antonio. Plus, the Hornets already have one of Parker's friends, fellow Frenchman Nic Batum.

The move to Charlotte reunites him with Hornets head coach James Borrego, who served as an assistant coach to Popovich with San Antonio from 2003 to 2010 and 2015 to 2018. The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears added that Parker considered offers from the Spurs and the Denver Nuggets before choosing the Hornets.

In his final season with the Spurs, Parker played 55 games averaged 7.7 points and 3.5 assists. Duncan has retired, Parker is now gone and Ginobili's status for next season is unknown.

Tony Parker has agreed to a two-year, $10M deal with Charlotte, league source tells ESPN. Parker was reportedly frustrated with how long Leonard was taking to return from injury after saying his quadriceps injury was "100 times worse". The Nets will buy him out, which will pave the way for Howard to eventually sign with the Wizards. Later today, ESPN reported that Howard will actually be signing a two-year deal in Washington - with the second year at his option. I think we're going to leave on good terms.

Spurs fans have known for a few years now that the 36-year-old was coming near to the end of his playing career with the team, and many thought leadership control of the team would transfer over to Kawhi Leonard.
