A screengrab from the video of Kristin Mink confronting Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt in a restaurant Monday.

The mother wrote on Facebook that Pruitt, his lunch guest, and two security guards left the restaurant before she returned to her table.

The fresh allegation that Pruitt enlisted a subordinate to perform personal duties comes on top of reports that he asked an aide to seek a business opportunity for his wife from the fast-food franchise Chick-fil-A, and that she received $2,000 from Concordia, a New York City-based nonprofit that had asked Pruitt to speak at an event past year.

EPA administrator Scott Pruitt was having lunch at Teaism on Monday when a woman confronted him and urged him to resign. In posting the video, Mink linked to a Sierra Club petition to oust Pruitt.

Chmielewski again comes through with the details: "EPA staffers met routinely in Pruitt's office to 'scrub, ' alter or remove from Pruitt's official calendar numerous records because they might 'look bad, ' according to Kevin Chmielewski, Pruitt's former deputy chief of staff for operations, who attended the meetings".

Weeks of criticism centered on the spending of taxpayer dollars for first-class travel, construction of a sound-proof booth in his office, and a sweetheart rental deal at a Capitol Hill home linked to a lobbyist who had business before the agency Pruitt runs.

Using a state-by-state analysis , it argues that Trump is risking a global trade war that will hit the wallets of USA consumers. On Sunday, Trump said the European Union was "as bad" as China when it came to the way European countries traded with the US.

"I would urge you to resign before your scandals push you out", said Mink, a teacher at a Quaker school.

Pruitt remained silent while Mink spoke, according to the cellphone video shot by Mink's husband.

Pruitt, in appearances before congressional hearings this spring, has denied responsibility for any ethical lapses, saying subordinates made those decisions.

Mink's confrontation of Pruitt marks the latest occurrence of Trump administration officials facing protesters confronting them while out in the community. "General Sessions and I are friends and I have always said I want nothing more than to see him succeed in his role", Pruitt said in a statement. She just went up to him, her toddler in her arms, and told him to resign.
