Game of Thrones couple to tie the knot in real life

"Game of Thrones" actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie got married today!

Although specific plans about the wedding have not been made public, they could Wednesday at Wardhill Castle, which is owned by the Leslie family.

Their nuptials were attended by several members of the "Game of Thrones" cast, including Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Emilia Clarke.

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are officially husband and wife after tying the knot at the actress' childhood home, Wardhill Castle in Aberdeenshire. In true Scottish style, Leslie's kilt-sporting father walked her down the isle. Leslie left the show in 2014. The fairytale wedding was decorated with paper hearts and tin cans tied to the back.

Leslie left Game of Thrones two years after they met, while Harington has become one of the show's most popular stars. The pair began dating in 2012 after meeting on " Game of Thrones " and announced their engagement in September 2017.

Harington and Leslie, who are both 31, met in 2012 on the set of the HBO fantasy series, where they played a couple as the characters Jon Snow and Ygritte. It's an absolutely lovely day for us.

Mr Leslie said it was also a day of celebration for the region, adding: "It's a great day for Aberdeenshire. We are using local caterers, local lighting, local flowers", he said. The couple announced the engagement in September 2017 in the Times newspaper and the wedding date was confirmed to the local registry office last month, reported news agency AFP.

They played love interests who ultimately were on opposite sides of a power struggle.
