The aim now is to put it on sale before or in September, according to one of the people. It is rumoured that Apple will launch three new iPhones in 2018 and with it the much-awaited AirPower mat might also finally be made available.

Additionally, unlike typical Qi wireless charging mats, the AirPower is a little more complicated since it is created to charge three devices simultaneously.

Of course, Apple has declined to comment on the matter.

Apple designers eventually hope to remove most of the external ports and buttons on the iPhone, including the charger, according to people familiar with the company's work. Apple unveiled it alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone X last fall, but the company hasn't mentioned it publicly since then. Apple is said to be using custom charging technology as well as Qi wireless charging technology in the pad. For loyalists who own several Apple products, the AirPower charging mat is tipped to be a firm favourite.

The iPhone X and the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus both shipped with Wireless charging enabled, albeit with no first party support. What type of wireless charger do you use for your mobile devices? That wasn't feasible at the time because wireless charging was still slower than traditional methods.

Most recently, a separate report from Digitimes indicated that Apple does intend to drop Lightning connectivity with next year's iPhones, but that it'll be replaced with USB-C.

So if you are someone who loves your Nintendo Switch , this is not for you as the other issues include screen burning too. Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console from Nintendo which has been very successful since its release.

In respect to overheating, one of Apple's patents regarding this issue surfaced.

Apple faced similar issues with the HomePod smart speaker, which was released this year, about six months after the device was first announced.

Sources have said that the delay in the release might be intentional as well, once more indicating the possibility of Apple removing the Lightning Port in the upcoming models. So it looks like there's added excitement to Apple's next launch event.

Removing the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus was just the start for Apple when it came to limiting options for the average user. However, wireless charging is still in its nascent stage and nowhere near as fast as wired chargers, so a delay in the AirPower launch may not necessarily affect the company right now.
