MacFarlane took issue with Tucker Carlson on Sunday after the Fox News host said on his Friday program, "If you're looking to understand what's actually happening in this country, always assume the opposite of whatever they're telling you on the big news stations".

The move is a concerning one as other major media players have signaled dissatisfaction with working for companies who have parent organizations affiliated with Fox News.

Seth MacFarlane, whose Family Guy airs on Fox was first to speak out against the 24-hour news channel's cheerleading for an administration tearing immigrant children from their families at the Mexican border.

Modern Family Co-Creator and Executive Producer Steve Levitan announced Tuesday he will leave the show in the future, outraged over Fox News' promotion of the Trump administration and its agenda.

Deadline reports that MacFarlane followed his tweet up with a hefty donation to National Public Radio, pledging $2 million to NPR and $500,000 to its Los Angeles membership station, KPCC.

He later tweeted that conservative commentator Ann Coulter was "the face of pure evil" after she falsely referred to immigrant children being separated from their parents at the border as "child actors" while appearing on Fox News.

Levitan had tweeted earlier that he was "disgusted" to work for the company.

This strips them of previous purchases made on PlayStation and requires them to start over again. PlayStation owners playing the game are also walled off from Xbox and Switch players.

With MacFarlane, Paul Feig, and Judd Apatow also showing their distaste, this could screw up Fox's film and television slate in the coming months.

Apatow called on more of those who work with or for Fox to speak out.

The uproar comes as Fox prepares to sell off most of its operations to Disney, including the studio that makes "Modern Family".

"Fox Studio has been a wonderful home for most of my career - so many fantastic people there who share the concerns about @FoxNews but aren't in the position to speak out", he began.

On the southern United States border, migrant families are being split up and young children kept in cages in camps as part of a controversial clampdown on immigration introduced by Donald Trump's administration.

"People don't want to deal with the fact that when you work for any part of Fox you are supporting a family which has made billions lying and manipulating our citizens for their personal financial gain", Apatow tweeted Tuesday morning.

Mediaite reached out to Fox News. He then went on to condemn the company and Fox News.

Mat Baxter, global CEO of Initiative, an ad agency, said the criticism is starting to turn off advertisers from Fox News but also 21st Century Fox.
