Kim summit signals new breakthrough and echoes past problems

Donald Trump commissioned a Hollywood-style video hyping peace in Korea to show Kim Jong Un. Of those alive today, only a small number will leave a lasting impact. There was no explanation of what they were watching.

This trailer had everything - dramatic voiceovers, stock footage, black and white pictures of North Koreans, Sylvester Stallone, drone deliveries, and a quote by Kim about belt-tightening.

The North Korea leader added that the "world would see a major change". "We had it made up". I explained it. I said instead of doing that, you could have the best hotels in the world. I thought they were fascinated.

"I think he (Kim) loved it".

"It's interesting because we believe Kim speaks English - he was educated in Switzerland and speaks German, but Trump seems to be the only one talking during their bit of chit chat", Professor Hajek told Yahoo.

Now we get the views from two people to whom we have turned many times throughout the a year ago, first on threats between the USA and North Korea and now negotiations. "One of moving back", the narrator says, over images of warfare and ruin, "or one of moving forward", followed by images of a North Korean missile launch in reverse, the famously dark country lighting up at night, and skyscrapers under construction.

Global pizza delivery chain's local branch Papa John's Korea said for a month in June, the company will hold a special discount promotion to celebrate "the historical moment that will never happen again".

"Kim Jong-un invited Trump to visit Pyongyang at a convenient time and Trump invited Kim Jong-un to visit the US", KCNA reported.

The role of the interpretor is based massively on trust, and a Boston Globe report said that 'interpreting for a president doesn't just mean repeating words in different languages; it also means reading the subtleties that both sides are expressing in their words and then accurately conveying those to the president'.

Kim's reaction is unknown.
