Stoke City sign Oghenekaro Etebo on five-year deal

Stoke City have completed the signing of Nigeria worldwide Peter Etebo on a five-year-deal, the Potters have announced on Monday.

News of the signing has also been welcomed by newly appointed manager Gary Rowett, who revealed his excitement for the arrival of Etebo.

The Swiss global will now head off to the World Cup and attempt to help his country emerge from a tricky group featuring Brazil, Serbia and Costa Rica, but he could be heading to Anfield after the tournament.

Reports state that the Shaqiri's brother and agent met with Liverpool officials last week to discuss a possible move.

Rowett added: "We're really excited to have got the deal over the line for Etebo".

He has been capped 14 times by Nigeria and came on as a substitute in last week's friendly against England at Wembley.

While fans can tune in now for some of the pre-show coverage, the big reveals are scheduled to begin at 7pm, BST. The highly anticipated action title is set for release on February 22, 2019 for PlayStation 4 , Xbox One and PC.

Following the signing, Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said: "We are delighted Etebo has chosen to join Stoke City, becoming our first signing of the summer".

The forward is hot property among Premier League clubs following Stoke City's relegation to the Championship and it appears he is nearing a move to Merseyside.

"Etebo is a very mobile, energetic midfielder and he's a great age".

A native of Lagos he'd leave boyhood club Warri Wolves FC in 2016 to join Feirense where he ultimately made 52 appearances registering nine goals and creating a further six for his teammates.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who will be at the upcoming World Cup with Nigeria, has signed a five-year contract. And after impressing in a loan spell with Las Palmas, he has now completed a big money move to Stoke.
