Larry Kudlow, top economic adviser to US President Donald Trump, on Monday suffered a "very mild" heart attack and has been admitted to a military hospital here.

It was not immediately known when Kudlow suffered the heart attack.

She said Kudlow was doing well and that doctors expect him to make a "full and speedy recovery".

Kudlow on Sunday said Justin Trudeau "stabbed us in the back" at a G7 summit after the Canadian leader said Trump invoking national security to justify United States tariffs was "kind of insulting" to Canadian veterans.

Trump offered no other details.

Kudlow, the director of the National Economic Council, had joined President Donald Trump last week in Canada for the meeting of the Group of Seven world leaders.

What's in the document that Kim and Trump signed?
Kim called the sit-down a "good prelude for peace" and Trump pledged that "working together we will get it taken care of". PM Lee is scheduled to meet Kim at the Istana on Sunday, and Trump on Monday. "I didn't know anything about North Korea".

"He really kind of stabbed us in the back", Kudlow said.

The Republican firebrand tweeted out the news of Kudlow's heart attack as he made his way to his Singapore summit with dictator Kim Jong-un.

Mr Trump - who has a history of hair-trigger responses to slights - has been in Singapore since Sunday for the Tuesday summit meeting with Kim.

He accused Mr Trudeau for the collapse of a joint communiqué after saying he was going ahead with retaliatory tariffs on the US.

He has ever since played a major role in crafting trade policies toward America's major allies and also joined US delegations in Beijing and Canada to address disputes on the same. Before joining the White House, he had vehementlyopposed the protectionist trade agenda that Trump promoted, but he became a forceful advocate for Trump's policies since joining the administration.

He told The New York Times in March he has been sober for 23 years, calling it "the center of my life".
