After Roland Garros, Nadal's win-loss record on clay stands at 415-36. He's already made history. This is not a reaction we are used to seeing from him but it revealed just how much he had invested in this clay-court season, both physically and emotionally. That's the sixth time in the fourteen French Opens he's played that he's lost one or fewer sets. Maybe, just maybe, fans could get an entertaining French Open final-something that has been sorely lacking in this era of Nadal's absolute dominance.

Taking on Nadal at the clay-court Grand Slam tournament is a whole other challenge. "As everybody knows, for me is the most important tournament of the year".

Nadal has now won three Grand Slam titles since turning 30 and only three men, Federer, Rod Laver and Ken Rosewall, who handed over the Coupe des Mousquetaires trophy on Sunday, have managed more, having done it four times.

Nadal brushed aside Dominic Thiem 6-4 6-3 6-2 on Court Philippe Chatrier to add to his record haul at Roland Garros. "The watch keeps going always", Nadal said. Nadal, Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray - the so-called Big Four - have dominated the men's game to such a degree that Thiem is only the second player now younger than 28 to have reached a major singles final.

"It is a drastic change from clay to grass".

London has not been a hospitable venue for the world No. 1 in recent years, featuring exits to the likes of Lukas Rosol, Steve Darcis and most recently Gilles Muller, when the Luxembourger beat him in last year's fourth round.

Nadal plays tournaments while wearing the limited edition Richard Mille watch which is valued at R9.4 million.

The percentage increases range from just under 6 percent in DE and over 57 percent in North Dakota. North Dakota had the highest increase, at almost 58 percent over the studied time period.

While we have an edge here, I appreciate that backing a heavy odds-on shot isn't most people's cup of tea, so the game handicap should be a viable proposition.

The top-seeded Nadal won the match 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 at Roland Garros in Paris against Thiem, a 24-year-old who is ranked No. 7.

For the second year running Federer opted against playing at the French Open to spare his knees, but will be favourite to win Wimbledon next month and re-establish a four Grand Slam gap over Nadal on the list of all-time collectors of major titles.

Once he moved two sets ahead it merely became a race against time for Nadal to finish the match off before the rain arrived.

Thirteen years and 17 Grand Slam titles along, with Nadal aged 32 years and one week, still, nobody has ever said anything any truer. I play for my happiness, and I know that I had already, yeah, an incredible career.

Unlike a year ago - when those first few games realistically settled things - Thiem bounced back, breaking straight away. He is entered into the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen's Club, starting a week today.
