LeBron James played NBA Finals with self-inflicted broken hand

James finished the Finals with averages of 34 points on 52.7 percent shooting overall (33.3 percent from 3), 10 assists and 8.5 rebounds.

Kevin Durant was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the second consecutive year after averaging 28.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.

Durant scored 20 points while registering a triple-double in the series clincher but his efforts will be remembered mostly for the playoff career-high 43 points he scored in a pivotal Game Three that all but sealed the title. Yet Golden State won anyway with relative ease because Durant took over the game, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the Warriors' scoring output while also leading the team in rebounds (13) and assists (7).

The Cleveland Cavaliers were just swept by the Golden State Warriors, and have now lost three times in their last four Finals appearances.

"We knew they were going to come out with a tough first punch and we answered it and ran right back at them, set the tone for the whole game".

One game at a time may be a sports cliche.

The first and second quarter performances by the Cavaliers were extraordinary, they moved the ball and stopped Curry from finding his rhythm. That series, one where the Warriors led 3-1, changed when they couldn't finish the job while being presented with serious adversity.

James, who can become a free agent at the end of the postseason, could be playing his last game in Cleveland.

The second half was a more subdued affair in terms of chances, the ten substitutions perhaps affecting the game's flow. Subs (not used): Pemberton, Moreira, Acosta, Duarte, Colindres, Ruiz, Wallace, Azofeifa.

Last season, the newness of Durant's arrival propelled the Warriors forward.

"The fact that they got here surprised me, actually, watching them during the regular season".

"When you get on the podium and you realize all the hard work that you put into it and all that you've been through led to that moment, it never gets boring", Curry said. You show up thinking that we're going to show up and win, right?

During his postgame press conference on Friday following the Golden State Warriors' sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers, James admitted to the injury and donned his cast.

If the Warriors finish this off - no team in National Basketball Association history has blown a 3-0 series lead - then all the hiccups of the regular season will be forgotten. Became the ninth team to sweep a finals and first to win consecutive titles since James did it with Miami in 2012 and 2013. "I sense that our team is more settled going into tonight than maybe we would have been two, three years ago". "They made some mini-runs, but over the course of 48 minutes our will took over".

Durant made four of them in Game 3, and Curry and James have also done it in this series.

Durant becomes the 11th player to win Finals MVP twice, joining six-time victor Michael Jordan, three-timers Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan and LeBron James, and two-timers Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, Hakeem Olajuwon, Willis Reed and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

In the midst of NBA Finals, one of the biggest hip-hop battles in years took place between Drake and Pusha T. After both artists released diss records against each other, it was reported that rap mogul J. Prince convinced Drake to not respond to Pusha T's lethal, "The Story of Adidon".
