Gaza health officials and witnesses said Israeli forces shot dead 21-year-old Razan al-Najar, a volunteer medic, as she ran toward the border fence, east of the south Gaza town of Khan Younis, in a bid to reach a casualty last Friday.

French news agency Agence France-Presse said one of its photographers, Mohammed Abed al-Baba, was wounded at a mass rally after Israeli forces opened fire.

Israel's use of deadly force against unarmed Palestinian protesters has drawn worldwide condemnation, with United Nations war crimes investigators set to probe the Gaza massacre.

Demonstrators also chanted anti-American slogans to condemn the US decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem.
