As Durant entered the Warriors' team hotel in the early hours of Thursday morning, he was greeted by the cheers of several adoring Golden State fans.

The Cavaliers had been 8-1 at home in the playoffs with eight wins in a row since losing their first-round opener to Indiana. So do their other defensive issues, such as the inability to switch cleanly off the ball.

But just like last season, Durant wasn't going to let that happen and inspired the Golden State Warriors to a 110-102 victory at Quicken Loans Arena to give them a 3-0 lead in the series. Because they rejected that concept, LeBron was enriched in the short term, but it provided the Warriors a route to sign Durant.

Kevin Durant torched the Cavaliers with a playoff-career high 43 points as the Warriors overcame a 13-point, first-half deficit to close in on their third National Basketball Association title in four seasons.

Golden State will now have four chances to wrap up its title starting with Game 4 on Friday night.

"That was fantastic what he did out there tonight", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.

KD wasn't the Cavaliers' only problem. Many of those uncontested. When the Warriors needed a shot late on with the Cavaliers closing in, Durant drained a three-pointer to extend the lead to 106-100 50 seconds left. "So just get back to work tomorrow and figure out a better game plan".

Bailly was pulled over Friday because of tinted windows on his vehicle and was advised to correct the problem, police said. Patterson and his mother visited with Bailly and his wife and snapped photos to commemorate their surprise reunion.

After Durant scored, Stephen Curry and Draymond surrounded Durant and screamed at their teammate, who calmly walked toward the bench.

"We've been in a position where we could win two out of these three games", said James, who had 33 points and his 10th Finals triple-double in Game 3. Every other active player combined have three. Just to put a dagger in them like that, that was a huge shot. Since joining the Warriors, he had connected on only two 3s from 30-plus feet and had never done it a few times in game throughout his career. He picked the right time to be dominant, since Steph Curry and Klay Thompson shot a combined 3-for-15 in the first half.

The Cavaliers, sparked by reserve Rodney Hood, closed to 83-81 entering the fourth quarter and battled the Warriors into the final seconds. Any of them can have a bad game. Tomorrow, they'll be different ones if the Warriors, who have dealt with adversity all season, sweep the Cavs.

Durant, who is on the brink of winning his second consecutive title with the Golden State Warriors, is expected to opt out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent.

"You actually are trying to get me to say something", James said laughing. He kept the Warriors close with his shooting (well, that and the off-ball movement that continues to lead to lay-up after lay-up for the Warriors). The Warriors, in rope-a-dope fashion, took countless body blows but were down only six at halftime.

It erased a lead that Kevin Love and J.R. Smith helped LeBron James establish in the first half. Kevin Durant. You've got two guys with MVPs on their team.
