Just days after Roseanne Barr's show was cancelled because of a racist tweet she posted, fellow United States comedian Samantha Bee was in jeopardy of losing her show due to an off-colour comment she made - or at least that's what some people on the internet petitioned.

Here's what others on social media had to say about Bee's remark towards Ivanka Trump.

Online auto marketplace Autotrader called Bee's comments "unacceptable" as they announced they were withdrawing from advertising on her Full Frontal show.

The "Full Frontal" host, who referred to Trump as a "feckless c--" during her taped broadcast, tweeted that she went too far with her segment, during which she implored Trump to persuade her father, President Donald Trump, to change his immigration policies.

'It was inappropriate and inexcusable. "I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it", Bee said in a statement.

TBS released their own statement following the backlash, defending Bee while at the same time condemning her controversial remarks.

Following Bee's comments, White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders weighed in.

Diplomats will continue to work for peace, but will do so "from a position of strength", he said. Phil Davidson as the new Indo-Pacific commander, replacing retiring Adm.

They did not say whether there would be any consequences for Bee or the show, which is taped and not aired live.

"The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling", she told TheWrap.

Autotrader is the first known advertiser to cut ties with Bee as a result of her Ivanka comments.

"The response immediately drew comparisons to the furor that arose this week when Roseanne Barr wrote a Twitter post comparing former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape". Some observers saw this as insensitive in the context of a furore over the US government's policy of separating immigrant parents from their children at the border with Mexico.

"There was no hint that the network was considering canceling Bee's program, "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee". Trump is now a senior White House adviser, and only a few days ago she posted a photo hugging her son while her father's administration decided immigrant families would be split apart.

However, many on Twitter have also come to Bee's defense, pointing out that her situation is not comparable to Roseanne's.

Bee apologized Thursday for the comment.
