Tesla (TSLA -3.6%) plans a six-day pause in production at its Fremont factory in order to make some assembly line fixes, sources tell Reuters.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) stock is down 2.3% to trade at $285.20 this morning, after Morgan Stanley issued a price-target cut to $291 from $376 and slashed its profitability forecasts.

Doug Field, senior vice-president of engineering, is taking time away from the company to recharge, according to a company spokesman.

The company is developing multiple new vehicles, including a semi truck, and has registered a new auto firm in Shanghai in a likely step toward production in China.

Tesla has not commented on the incident. He added that he would reduce the number of third-party contracting companies engaged by Tesla, equating them with "barnacles" needing to be scrubbed off.

US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla will be shutting down Model 3 production again, in order to work on assembly line fixes. The analyst in coverage expressed concerns about Model 3 production and the recent executive turnover, saying TSLA is trading near fair value.

Last week, Tesla released a teaser of their upcoming vehicles, which they posted on their official YouTube channel.

This is not the first time a Tesla has collided with a fire engine while its Autopilot mode was engaged.

"This is false", Musk wrote. "Eyetracking rejected for being ineffective, not for cost", Musk tweeted.

A driver was killed when the battery of his Tesla electric vehicle exploded when it crashed in southern Switzerland, the local fire brigade has claimed.

"To ensure that Tesla is well-prepared for the future, we have been undertaking a thorough reorganization of our company", Musk said in the memo, obtained by CNBC.

Additionally, the NTSB is also looking into a 2016 accident in which the driver of a Tesla slammed into a tractor trailer and died.

Whether an Autopilot feature was engaged when a Model S collided with the rear of a stopped fire truck in the USA state of Utah on May 11 remained to be confirmed.

Police in the Salt Lake City suburb of South Jordan said Monday the driver also said in an interview that she was looking at her phone before the accident.

The National Transport Safety Board is already investigating two fatal incidents involving Tesla vehicles.
