The crash was reported around 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 5 block of Mareblu in Aliso Viejo off of Route 73, the Orange County Fire Authority confirmed.

"When I was playing outside I heard the big crash, I thought it was a garbage truck but it was a building that smashed", 6-year-old Kingston Dik told KNBC-TV.

He also said that the police finds out causes of the explosion.

The identity of the female victim who was killed, has yet to be released.

Bomb squad investigators and FBI agents are looking into what caused the blast but authorities said there was no lingering threat, according to NBC. Mr. Bommarito said all three were expected to survive. The three people who were injured were nearby and were being questioned by investigators late Tuesday night, he said.

At this point, officials are not ruling anything out. The large contingent of fire and law-enforcement personnel gathered at the scene were cautiously trying to determine the best way to search the building, with sheriff's department spokeswoman Carrie Braun saying bomb-sniffing dogs might be deployed into the building first.

"Anytime you see an explosion of this magnitude, it would definitely be suspicious to us and that's why we rolled out all the resources to get to the bottom of it", he said.

The powerful blast blew out almost the entire bottom floor, officials said. And there is no specific person that authorities are searching for right now, he added.

Bomb technicians from the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other agencies were investigating, said Paul Delacourt, the assistant director in charge of the FBI's field office in Los Angeles.

Authorities will not enter the building until they "deem it safe", he said.

"And the ground shook", he told CNN. It blew siding off the walls, exposing insulation and framing and shattering windows at the two-story building that houses medical offices.

A third person suffered smoke inhalation, fire officials said. Her face was covered in blood, he said.
