Roy Keane warns Liverpool ahead of UCL match against Real

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp reacted to his side reaching their first Champions League final since 2007 by insisting that it will only be a memorable achievement if his side win it.

The Reds secured their spot in the showpiece in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night when they secured a 7-6 aggregate victory over AS Roma in the semi-final tie, despite losing the second leg 4-2.

Real will expect to penetrate Liverpool's defence, especially if Isco, Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema can properly support Ronaldo, but Jurgen Klopp will also back his forward line of Salah, Firmino and Mane to take advantage of Real's defensive shortcomings. I see no trophies after these games.

Liverpool-born McDermott, who played for his local club from 1974-82, won the competition formerly known as the European Cup three times, including in 1981 when Liverpool beat Real 1-0 in the final.

"Real Madrid would be able to use his strengths".

The Italian hosts were aggrieved post-match, sporting director Monchi leading calls for the introduction of VAR after Roma were denied two penalties - Edin Dzeko wrongly flagged for offside before he was taken down by Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, while Trent Alexander-Arnold handled the ball just past the hour-mark. Liverpool's travelling contingent lapped it up, the synergy between manager and fans clear.

Maple Leafs say Lamoriello will not return as GM next season
Lamoriello spent 27 seasons as Devils GM before stepping down in May 2015 and joining the Maple Leafs in their rebuilding effort. Lamoriello declined to discuss his future plans during the team's end-of-season availability last Friday.

Madrid meanwhile have to stop Liverpool's attacking trio - without question the most formidable in the world right now - when the two face off at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium on May 26. Everyone in the Champions League has quality. "It's going to be hard - but for both clubs".

The Reds are the only team to score five or more goals in four games in a single Champions League season.

"I know which players you immediately think about when you talk about how we could be better because it is always the same, but find me better ones who you know will react in certain situations".

Both must embrace the challenge and play to their obvious strengths, but a level of respect, which appeared non-existent in the semi-finals, must be evident.

We were in Europa League final, nobody tells me that. 34 years on, Liverpool are once again the side who condemn them. I said it before the semifinal, everybody will remind me from now on that I lost the last five finals.

Brighton, meanwhile, can secure Premier League safety with a win over Jose Mourinho and company, as they now rest in 14th position, five points above Southampton in the first danger spot.
