Prosecutors have charged a Los Angeles man with extortion in connection with Philly-born comedian Kevin Hart's sex tape scandal from a year ago.

Even though Kevin Hart has been adamant that he wouldn't succumb to blackmail, he is clearly blown away by the fact that his own friend tried to set him up.

Jackson is accused of seeking an undisclosed amount of money from Hart, 38, in August a year ago and of also trying to sell a video of Hart in Las Vegas with a woman to numerous celebrity news websites.

It turns out that Jackson is a close friend of Hart's and even attended his bachelor party, TMZ reports.

As TMZ reports, Jackson, an actor, was a close friend of Hart's for almost two decades, a revelation that only adds salt to the wound. a lost for words and simply in complete disbelief at the moment. "I am in no way shape or form the middleman". I love him to death but him and I are just friends.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Jonathan Todd Jackson was arrested on April 30 and held on $100,000 bail.

Hart posted a video last September apologizing to his then pregnant wife, Eniko Parrish, and his children from his first marriage for "a bad error in judgment". You know, I'm not flawless. If convicted as charged, Jackson faces a possible maximum sentence of four years in county jail.

Jonathan was also there in a small role in one of Hart's movies. But I'm also not going to allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes and in this particular situation that was what was attempted.
