Cosby juror: Comedian's talk of quaaludes led to conviction

"Mr. Cosby admitted to giving these quaaludes to women, young women, in order to have sex with them".

Snyder, the youngest member on the panel, was the first person selected during the jury selection process earlier this month.

Cosby also seemed to compare himself to Nelson Mandela, the imprisoned anti-apartheid leader who later became South African's first black president.

Snyder stated he knew little about the actor before the trial or his allegations. I think the most significant grounds were the five accusers. He added: "I never watched The Cosby Show or anything".

"I am my own individual, and I make the decisions", he said, according to CNN.

Cosby is awaiting sentencing from his Cheltenham home, where he sexually assaulted Andrea Constand and where he is now under house arrest.

ABC Chief Legal Analyst and Law&Crime founder Dan Abrams said that this could be key for the prosecution should Cosby appeal, because defense attorneys sometimes look to jurors' comments after a trial.

Juror Says Bill Cosby's Own Comments Led to Guilty Verdict

Prosecutor Kristen Feden told The Associated Press in an interview Saturday that in the tense moments before the jury convicted Cosby, she started to worry about the global implications if the #MeToo era's first big trial went the other way. However, five other women were in the courtroom and claimed the comedian sexually assaulted them as well.

In fact, hearing the actor's own words ended up being even stronger evidence for conviction than the testimonies of the women who testified that Cosby assaulted them.

Then-District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman reopened the Cosby investigation in July 2015 after a federal judge, acting on a request from the AP, unsealed portions of Cosby's deposition testimony from a civil lawsuit he settled with Constand in 2006 for $3.4 million.

Prosecutors used Cosby's statements - which confirmed much of Constand's story and referenced his use of drugs in sexual encounters with other women - against him at both trials. While some people refuse to believe the man once considered "America's Dad" is guilty of such heinous crimes, Snyder thinks the jury got its verdict right.

He revealed that some agree Cosby is guilty, but others have told them they are still convinced he is innocent.

A jury in Norristown, Pennsylvania, last Thursday found Cosby guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault.
